Ygnite 2023 in San Jose, CA

This year’s Ygnite brought the conference back to full capacity. After one virtual conference and one in-person conference with a reduced number of participants during the pandemic. New initiatives were created to bring in more undergraduates and new participants, which resulted in more than 110 new participants and a record number of applicants for the YG leadership session.

Ygnite 2023 featured different avenues of participation for participants to take part in, including lectures, panels, posters, lightning talks, YG leadership session, and TikTalk, which was newly introduced this year, as well as two tracks for the startup – Vision and Venture.

Notable program session presenters and winners from the two startup pitch competitions were recognized with awards, with the Lightning Talk awards being sponsored by KIRD and the top two venture pitch winners getting an investment award from MVLASF.

Ygnite 2023 had a great lineup of distinguished guests. Friday evening’s plenary speech was delivered by Professor Thomas Lee, professor of electrical engineering at Stanford University. The keynote fireside chat at the Gala featured Professor Jihoon Rim, an adjunct professor at New York University.

This year’s Gala was themed around Seollal and invited all Ygnite 2023 participants as well as local professionals, providing opportunities to network as well as to celebrate Seollal and the achievement of the next generation together.
