KSEA Philadelphia and New Jersey – KITEE Networking Event

KSEA Philadelphia Chapter, New Jersey Chapter, and KITEE (Korean-American Innovative Technology Engineers and Entrepreneurs), an APS of KSEA, jointly held a networking event at Han Dynasty in Cherry Hill, NJ on February 22, 2023. The event aimed to promote networking and collaboration among KSEA and KITEE members in the Philadelphia and South/Central NJ area, and to recruit new members and bring out inactive members to connect with KSEA again. The dinner event started with a reception with drinks at 6:00 PM and had the main event from 6:30 until 9:00 PM, consisting of (1) Opening, (2) Dinner, KITEE and KSEA Introduction, and (3) Networking and Closing.

During the Opening, Dr. Dong Sung Suk, KITEE Chairman, welcomed the attendees to the networking dinner and thanked the Committee members who prepared the event for their efforts to make the chapters and KITEE more active, especially in the area where KSEA has not been very active. 

The introduction of KSEA and KITEE followed. Dr. Kooksang Moon, a former President of KSEA NJ Chapter, introduced KSEA to the attendees, including:

• Mission and history of KSEA
• Major activities of KSEA HQ and NJ / Philadelphia chapters
• Member benefits

In the following KITEE Introduction, Dr. Kyeong Ho Yang, KITEE President, explained what KITEE has done for the past 8 years in the following areas:

• KITEE activities 
• Collaboration with KSEA
• Collaboration with Korean organizations in the New York area
• Programs for Korean startups

After the introduction, all the attendees from the three organizations introduced themselves to other attendees. About 15 attendees from Philadelphia and about 10 from New Jersey attended the event, of which about 8 were KITEE members as well. More than half were prospective KSEA members.

This event was prepared by a Committee led by three Co-Chairs (Kyeong Ho Yang, Jinwook Lee, Hyojin Kim), and with the following members: Wookjin Choi (Program), Kooksang Moon (Treasurer), Hannah Kim (Public Relations), and Jongmin Nam (Local Arrangement ).
