Korean-American Scientists and Engineers Association Newsletters
March 2023

Dear fellow KSEA members,
We are proud to present the second issue of the 51st administration’s e-newsletter that we hope will keep you connected with the KSEA.
As our lives are returning to normal, KSEA’s in-person events are back. We indeed have had numerous strong and exciting events with in-person professional and social interactions, organized by local chapters and the young generation. I had a pleasure of visiting nine universities in the last few months, giving lectures and listening to / communicating with undergraduate and graduate students.

At the same time, we have utilized virtual options to reach out to much greater and broader communities. Virtual events ranged from the Distinguished Guest Series, the Women in STEM workshop, the Python Instructional Series, the Mid-Career Development Workshop, and the Senior Forum Series to events celebrating the life and career of the KSEA 30th President Nak Ho Sung and that of the KSEA 1st President Shoon Kyung Kim.
I am pleased to inform you that the Korean-American Educational Researchers Association (KAERA) and the SoCal K-Group became KSEA’s new Affiliated Professional Societies (APSs) early this year. KAERA aims to support Korean-American and Korean researchers to advance knowledge in education. SoCal K-Group is a professional networking group dedicated to connecting and fostering the growth of experts in the art, tech, and startup industries throughout Southern California. Please join me in welcoming KAERA and SoCal K-Group.
Some of our recent activities and news are presented in this e-newsletter and I hope that you enjoy reading it!
