KSEA Austin TX Chapter
The 33rd Technical Seminar of the Korean-American Scientists and Engineers Association (KSEA) Austin Chapter on September 29th at the University of Texas at Austin was a resounding success. The event featured a captivating presentation by Professor Woo-Jung Park from Gangneung-Wonju National University, who delved into the fascinating topic of “Immune Regulation of Marine Bio-Functional Materials.”
Professor Park elucidated how the constituents derived from marine bio-organisms, such as Codium fragile (청각) and Halocynthia aurantium (붉은멍게), play a crucial role in the regulation of inflammation and immune functions. His insights were both illuminating and thought-provoking. The seminar, which spanned approximately one hour, drew an engaged audience of approximately 30 students and researchers hailing from the University of Texas at Austin and Angelo State University. Attendees joined in both in-person and online capacities, fostering a collaborative and meaningful experience for all involved.
