The joint Autumn Golf Tournament hosted by the Korean American Society in Biotech and Pharmaceuticals of Boston (KASBP-Boston) and the Korean-American Scientists and Engineers Association-New England Chapter (KSEA-NE) took place in the Red Tail Golf Club in Devens, Massachusetts. Initially scheduled for mid-October, the event was postponed by a severe weather condition (hurricane) and rescheduled to the last Saturday of October.
The purpose of the Golf Tournament was to promote networking among scientists in the Boston area and to attract new members through collaboration. Through the sponsorship of BW Biomed LLC and the financial support of KASBP-Boston and KSEA-NE, the event was organized to allow participants to enjoy playing golf and socializing at a cost that was not burdensome. KSEA-NE could recruit many new members who are in industry and also in academia. A total of 32 individuals participated in the golf, and later, during the Happy Hour, many more joined, creating an opportunity for building camaraderie in the beautiful autumn weather.
KASBP-Boston and KSEA-NE plan to continue to promote networking and social events among local pharmaceutical and science and technology industry professionals through the annual Autumn Golf Tournament every year.
