The 3rd KSEA Senior Forum

The 3rd KSEA Senior forum was held virtually with a presentation, entitled “Pioneer of Higher Education for Women in Korea: Lulu E. Frey and Nancy Kim Ha (하 란사),” given by Kang-Wook Lee (IBM and 37th President of KSEA. The forum moderated by Dr. HT Thomas Hahn (UCLA, 28th President of KSEA), the Chair of the KSEA Senior Forum Series. Dr. Lee summarized an investigative work spanning over many years and locations, such as US Methodist Missionary archives, Ewha Womans University archives, and other internet resources. Cultural and political challenges encountered were first thoroughly examined with respect to Korean history associated with the Japanese occupation. Inspirational and altruistic work by these pioneering women was highlighted to fuel the vision of women’s education and professional development.
