KSEA Seattle Annual Conference

The KSEA Seattle Branch, led by President John Lee, successfully hosted the ‘Career Development Conference’ in November 2023.
The event, themed ‘Start Your Career Journey Like a Sports,’ attracted
over 100 Korean-American college students and young professionals from
the Seattle area, providing them with a learning opportunity for
career development, as well as networking.

Prominent figures such as Park Kyung-ho, Consul at the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Seattle, attended the event to encourage the next generation of Korean-Americans. And attendees shared their career experiences with each other, including John Lee, President of the KSEA Seattle Branch.

Jason Choi, Vice President of the KSEA Seattle Branch linked career development to sports, suggesting that individuals should progress step by step, following rules and strategies, similar to how players advance from the Little League to the Major Leagues in baseball.

Ben Waters, CEO of Wibotics, a startup developing wireless charging technology for various devices shared insights on ‘Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Technology, and Robotics,’ receiving applause for his excellent presentation. Waters, a Ph.D. graduate from the
The University of Washington emphasized the importance of having beliefs and determination while navigating one’s career path.

Other speakers included Mark Kim, Director at Boeing, Alon Kim, Engineering Manager at Disney and career development experts David Woodward and Shin Seung-jin, Director at Umoja Biopharma. They Participated in panel discussions on career-related topics.

Participants also enjoyed networking activities, including quiz, to build connections with each other.

President John Lee encouraged attendees to join KSEA, and emphasized the opportunities for career coaching and networking available to KSEA members.
