On August 31, 2024, the Virginia Tech Korean Students Association (VTKSA) hosted its Annual Membership Drive & Welcoming Event at Squires Hall, offering a valuable networking platform for Korean students at various academic levels. The event, attended by 76 participants including 27 new members, featured insightful talks from professor Jaeyong Ha, club president Jinseon Hwang, and Jaewon Kim, focusing on academic experiences and professional development.
The primary goal was to connect new and returning students—undergraduate, graduate, and regular members—and foster meaningful academic relationships. Attendees shared their research interests, academic journeys, and personal insights, creating an atmosphere of collaboration and mutual support.
The event ran smoothly, and as it concluded, students engaged in informal networking sessions, strengthening their connections. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with participants appreciating the welcoming environment and opportunities to connect with peers and mentors.
