The 2025 KOTAA Annual Meeting, held recently, brought together a diverse group of members and stakeholders, including professionals, graduate students, and academics. The event was kicked off by Dr. Sung-Hee (Sonny) Kim, President of KOTAA, who opened the session by welcoming KOTAA members. The first part of the meeting featured a one-hour business update, where KOTAA leadership provided an overview of key accomplishments from 2024. The updates covered various critical areas including the organization’s financial health, audit reports, and a strategic look ahead at plans for 2025.
A highlight of the event was the presentation session by 51 graduate students, who showcased their research projects through YouTube videos. The students, primarily from graduate programs, shared their innovative work in various fields. After the presentations, two students were awarded for delivering the best presentations, recognizing their outstanding contributions to the field. The meeting concluded with the KOTAA annual networking banquet, providing an excellent opportunity for attendees to connect, collaborate, and discuss future initiatives in a relaxed and social setting. A total of 142 individuals attended the event, with 51 regular members and 88 graduate students, including three undergraduate participants. As the KOTAA community continues to grow, the event reinforced the importance of academic collaboration, networking, and forward-thinking initiatives for the year ahead.
