On September 20, 2024, the UIUC KSEA chapter hosted a workshop with the goal of bringing members together and improving teamwork between the academic and event teams. The workshop began with each team presenting their plans for the semester. The academic team outlined their goals, which included preparing for the Engineering Open House and several academic conferences. These presentations caught the attention of some STEM major members in the event team, creating an opportunity for students from different majors to collaborate on future projects. While members within each team were already familiar with one another, the workshop featured several fun recreational activities where academic and event team members were mixed into new groups. This allowed everyone to get to know team members they hadn’t worked with before. The games helped break the ice, and the teams bonded over working together in a more relaxed setting. The combination of structured presentations and team-building activities made the workshop both productive and enjoyable. It gave members a chance to discuss their ideas and goals in a more casual environment, helping to create stronger connections across different groups. As a result, the event led to more interest from a variety of majors, giving KSEA members the chance to work on future projects together. Overall, the workshop was a success, encouraging new collaborations and strengthening the sense of community within the UIUC KSEA chapter.
