The 2024 KASBP Fall Symposium, held on November 8 and 9, was successfully concluded thanks to member’s passionate participation and support, despite several challenges, including a new venue and newly introduced program formats.
This Fall Symposium was centered on the theme, “Neuroscience in the Age of AI: Innovations in Understanding and Treating Neurological Disorders.” It featured a total of nine speakers, including scientists from major pharmaceutical companies such as Novartis, AbbVie, Genentech, and Regeneron, as well as leading academic researchers. Particularly noteworthy was Dr. Stephen Cho of Novartis, the recipient of the KASBP-Daewoong Achievement Award, who delivered an insightful lecture on the innovative integration of portfolio management with AI. Additionally, many speakers shared the latest strategies, techniques, and creative ideas in neuroscience and drug development, offering valuable learning and inspiration for all attendees.
Almost 300 attendees from over 20 states, including Korea, Boston, New York/New Jersey, San Francisco, Chicago, San Diego, Philadelphia, Connecticut, Washington D.C., and Seattle, participated in the symposium. These included professionals in the pharmaceutical industry, researchers, professors, and students, showcasing the strength of KASBP. We also succeeded in a membership drive with KSEA, with 87 renewing members and 68 new members.
The event also reaffirmed its significance as a platform for discovering talented individuals and nurturing the next generation through initiatives like the KASBP Fellowship, YG Session, and Career Fair. Notably, the Pre-Symposium format for the YG Session and Career Fair allowed mentors and mentees to engage in more focused and meaningful interactions.
The upcoming 2025 KASBP Spring Symposium is scheduled to take place from June 13 (Friday) to June 14 (Saturday) in Washington, D.C., under the tentative theme “Strategies for Success in Late-Stage Drug Development: Overcoming Regulatory Hurdles and Driving Innovation.”
We will continue to strive to provide meaningful experiences for our members through diverse programs and regional events.
