As the new year of 2025 begins, the Korean Graduate Student Association (KGSA) and the Korean-American Scientists and Engineers Association (KSEA) jointly hosted a General Meeting at Berkeley. This event was designed to foster social networking among Korean graduate students and postdoctoral researchers studying in Berkeley, providing a valuable opportunity to connect and share information.
The primary focus of the event was to introduce each organization’s plans for 2025 and promote their activities to new and returning members. Representatives from both KGSA and KSEA shared their upcoming initiatives, offering insights into academic support, career development, and community engagement. Beyond these two organizations, the event also featured presentations from startups based in the Berkeley Bay Area, allowing attendees to gain knowledge not only about academia but also about industry-related opportunities.
Following the introductions and presentations, participants enjoyed a casual yet engaging networking session, which included recreational games and refreshments. This facilitated meaningful interactions among graduate students and postdoctoral researchers from various fields, helping them build professional and personal connections within the Korean academic community. The event successfully created a welcoming atmosphere for knowledge exchange and collaboration, setting a positive tone for the year ahead.
