The Korean Life Scientists Association of Maryland (KLAM) successfully hosted a spring outdoor BBQ party on Saturday, April 26, at Cedar Lane Park in Howard County. The event invited Korean life scientists and their families.
Unlike KLAM’s usual events, which are academic seminars, this BBQ party was designed to strengthen the sense of community among members. By stepping out of the lab and into the open air, attendees were given a natural opportunity to connect and deepen their understanding of one another through casual, everyday conversations.
More than just a shared meal, the BBQ party was thoughtfully organized to encourage participants to engage in lively discussions and build new connections in a free and casual setting. The pavilion featured themed tables such as “Family,” “Parenting,” and “Research” reflecting participants’ interests and making it easy even for those meeting for the first time.
Although there were concerns about the weather due to a rainy forecast, the day turned out to be mostly sunny. Over a hundred members and their families gathered to enjoy the delicious barbecue and spend meaningful time together.
