GA Chapter local seminar series #1

On September 7, 2024, the KSEA-GA chapter hosted its first seminar of the year, featuring Inkoo “Kevin” Kim as the guest speaker. Kevin Kim is the Managing Attorney at Ingoo Kevin Kim Law, LLC, a Gwinnett County Court-Appointed Attorney for Guardian Ad Litem services, and a former Talk Show Host and Vice President of Atlanta Radio Korea. His diverse background and extensive expertise made him a fitting choice to address the seminar’s theme.

The seminar focused on the often-overlooked subject of estate planning, a crucial yet unfamiliar topic for many members. Kevin Kim provided a comprehensive overview of estate planning, covering essential elements such as the purpose of creating an estate plan, the benefits it offers to individuals and families, and the legal considerations involved. He also highlighted common misconceptions, such as the belief that estate planning is only for the wealthy, and clarified the processes related to wills, trusts, and the distribution of assets.

The event attracted 22 members, providing a platform not only for learning but also for meaningful networking among attendees. Members had the opportunity to ask specific questions related to their own experiences, which helped deepen their understanding of the subject matter. The seminar fostered an engaging environment where participants could discuss the implications of estate planning for their personal and professional lives. Feedback from the attendees was overwhelmingly positive. Many expressed their appreciation for the practical insights provided by the speaker and noted how the seminar shed light on a topic that they previously found confusing or intimidating. The event not only enriched members’ knowledge but also reinforced the chapter’s commitment to offering valuable learning opportunities that cater to the interests and needs of its community.
