KSEA e-Letters November 2024

Korean-American Scientists and Engineers Association Newsletters

November 2024

Dear KSEA Members,

As we prepare to close out 2024, I am reminded of the incredible energy and achievements within our vibrant KSEA community.  This November edition of the KSEA e-Letter highlights just how dynamic and diverse our organization has become, thanks to your unwavering dedication and support.

In this issue, you’ll find exciting news about the 2025 KSEA Young Investigator Grants, showcasing our commitment to supporting emerging talents. I am also proud to share that during the 53rd administration’s first fiscal year, KSEA signed three significant MOUs, paving the way for groundbreaking collaborations and opportunities.

Our National Events section celebrates the success of SEED 2024and the Interstate Drone League (iDrone KSEA), where innovation and community engagement took center stage. These events exemplify our mission to foster leadership and advance science and technology within our community.

In the Member News section, we recognize the outstanding contributions of two 2023 Young Investigator Grant recipients: Dr. Hyoyoung Jeong and Dr. Changrim Lee. Their work is a testament to the caliber of talent within KSEA and the impact we can have in the scientific world.

The Young Generation (YG) continues to inspire with initiatives like the 1st UF KSEA YG Group Gainesville Chapter networking event, which strengthens bonds among our younger members and promotes future leaders.

On the local front, our chapters have been buzzing with activity, from fall picnics and networking events to seminars and student welcoming programs. Highlights include the Orlando Chapter Fall Picnic, Virginia Tech resume seminar, and the Triangle Sport Day. These events underscore the importance of community at every level of KSEA.

Finally, in the APS/TG/Regional Conferences section, the 2024 Northeast Regional Conference and the 8th KAPAL Annual Conference remind us of the vital role KSEA plays in fostering global connections and collaboration.

As we head into the holiday season, I encourage you to reflect on the many ways you’ve contributed to KSEA’s success.  Thank you for being an essential part of our community and for your commitment to advancing science, technology, and the Korean-American community.  Together, let’s continue to build a stronger, more innovative future.

Warm regards,

Tom Oh

53rd President, KSEA
